Difference Between An Introvert and Extrovert

We think extroverts are chatty and sociable and become friends quickly and introverts are reserved, hidden, and do not open up easily. Introverts love to spend time alone. They don't enjoy spending time in crowds and getting surrounded by people, extroverts get energized by getting social. Both perceive different behaviors. But no two people are alike. We as individuals all appear the same. But still are different in expressing thoughts, feelings, and actions and that represents our true personality.

Life of Introverts

Introverts are complex to understand. They are absorbed by their own beliefs and need a lot of secret time. They prefer activities that would not require much social interaction which includes writing, reading, listening to music. They have their own world of fantasies. We find them being shy but the truth is they are done with tolerating people around. They think twice before speaking anything and have a tiny group of people and find a treasure to spend time with that limited number of the audience. They get amazed by small changes and astonishments. They are not always shy and may not avoid social events but they need some time to get familiar with people, who they have not have for a long time or have met for the first time. They are sensitive to noise and they also prefer simplicity in their environment. They like little interference and enjoy their own time.


Life of Extroverts

Extroverts enjoy the smallest of things. They are energetic and compliant to manage in any situation and can handle any challenges they face. Extroverts are very good at expressing themselves. They are very confident and frank and focus on realities rather than just hiding their feelings. They have outstanding communication skills. They relish being the center of attraction and are very good at making quick decisions. They usually enjoy hanging out with people rather than enjoying their own company.


How Society Perceives them?

Our society is more prepared for extroverts. They think they can take off leaderships roles better and are good at making connections. But it is important to know that extroversion is just a segment of one's personality. Some even don't fall in any of the categories. Introverts and extroverts are the two ultimate ends. Some of us fall in the middle of the two categories. Such people are called ambiverts. They exhibit both the qualities of extrovert and introvert. Means introverted people enjoy being surrounded by people for a short span and suddenly they get bored, on the contrary extroverts enjoy isolation for a limited time, and repeatedly they wanted to be in the company of people.


Who performs better at work?

Employers have to decide what kind of role suits which personality. They have to identify their passion. They both are equally motivated and hardworking. Both are unique at performing best at their workplaces.


Working with Introverts

Be it giving a presentation or hosting an event, or leading a team of many people, an introvert can perform and an extrovert. Initially, they may take time to indulge with people they have never met. Initially, they may be hesitant to share their ideas. They are very good listeners and are equally clever and determined. They may feel forgotten among so many extroverted people. It is important to give them a chance to express themselves and feel associated with the team. For a successful project, their contribution cannot be ignored. To allow them to involve easier ask them to come for team outings and office parties. Ask for their feedback. They make the environment an ideal workplace.
                   
Apart from these introverts also have to make efforts to indulge in the environment. They must come out of their comfort zone. In this way, they will be more comfortable in adjusting to the people at the workplace. They need to provide equal participation in any team discussion. You may be more creative and involved in the learning process. They are very good observers.


Working with Extroverts

Like introverts, extroverts are also good at development and writing skills. They are equally creative. They are a very good speaker. They can make the workplace more enjoyable with their enthusiasm. They are ever ready to help from team members and people are not hesitant to seek help from them. They are the best at giving advice in team meetings and openly share an opinion and collaborates with other team members. They always make eye contact while talking.
                 
But the extroverts must also be ready to listen to others. They may be very outspoken but should take care before saying anything as it may not hurt other's sentiments because words once said cannot be taken back. They have the talent to hold the attention of everyone.

It is important to understand both types of people and their situations. It will help the organization achieve the best outcome by making the best decisions possible. In this way, they can make an organization a great place to work and the employees can be more productive and motivated.
